golden self-care: creating your late summer evening ritual

as summer starts leaning into its softer side, the evenings feel a little slower, a little warmer in tone. it’s that golden hour light — the perfect time to slip into something comforting and just… exhale.

after a long day of doing all the things, your body craves that gentle shift from “go” mode to “rest” mode. and honestly? you deserve it. this isn’t just about skincare or tea it’s about giving yourself that quiet reminder that you are worthy of softness, slowness, and glow.

here’s how i like to make it special:

set the scene
turn down the lights, light your favorite candle, and put on music that makes your shoulders drop. this is your time no multitasking allowed.

sip something soothing
grab a mug of something that feels like a hug. maybe peachy calm (rooibos, ginger, dried peaches) or sweet magnolia (tulsi + black tea). hold the warmth in your hands, take a breath between sips, and just let your mind slow down.

soak the day away
run a warm bath and toss in:
¼ cup pink salt
1 tbsp dried lavender
1 tbsp calendula
1 tsp chamomile
a few drops of your favorite essential oil (eucalyptus, lavender, or peppermint)

sink in, close your eyes, and imagine the water carrying away every bit of tension, stress, and leftover heat from the day. stay as long as you can at least 20 minutes if life allows.

love on your skin
when you get out, don’t rush. pat your skin gently (leave it a little damp), then smooth on body elixir or tropical body polish. move slowly from your feet up, noticing how your body feels under your hands.

wind down your mind
find a cozy spot and either jot a few thoughts in your journal, sip a little more tea, or sit in silence. maybe pull a card, breathe deeply, or just let your mind wander.

a few words to carry with you
i create space to unwind.
i deserve a soft landing at the end of the day.
my glow comes from the care i give myself.
