prefer it bold and bitter? swap the herbs for 1 to 2 tsp of our gut check blend

you'll also need: a tea infuser or reusable tea bag, and a calm space for sipping and stillness

instructions

1. bring water to a boil, then let it rest a moment off the heat.
2. place the herbs in an infuser or directly in your mug.
3. pour 8 oz of hot water over the herbs, cover, and steep for 8 to 10 minutes.
4. strain, add any optional add-ins, and sip slowly.

the ritual

while it steeps: place your hands on your belly.

breathe: take three deep breaths, inhaling through your nose and exhaling through your mouth.

soften: notice where you're holding tension and allow yourself to let it go.

herbalist tips

crush the fennel: press the seeds with the back of a spoon to release their sweet, licorice-like flavor.

cover while steeping: a lid or saucer keeps the bright citrus oils in your cup.

after-meal ritual: this warming cup is lovely after dinner as a slow way to close out the day.

make a jar: mix a larger batch of the dry herbs in the same ratio so your ritual is ready in seconds.
