15 min | serves 1 | caffeine-free | hot or iced

this latte steeps our carrot spice blend of honeybush, cinnamon, ginger, carrot, nutmeg, and hazelnut into a naturally sweet, bakery-spiced base. steamed milk and a little whipped cream cheese foam on top turn it into dessert you can sip any time of day.

ingredients

1 tbsp carrot spice tea
½ cup hot water
¾ cup milk of choice
1 tsp maple syrup or brown sugar
pinch of ground cinnamon for topping

optional add-ins:
cream cheese foam: 1 tbsp softened cream cheese, 2 tbsp warm milk, and ½ tsp maple syrup
a splash of vanilla extract
chopped toasted walnuts or pecans on top
our blended sweeteners in place of maple

you'll also need: a tea infuser or reusable tea bag, a small pot, and a milk frother (optional)

instructions

1. pour ½ cup of just-boiled water over the tea. cover and steep for 10 minutes, then strain.
2. warm the milk in a small pot until steaming, then froth if desired.
3. for the foam, whisk the cream cheese, warm milk, and maple together until smooth and fluffy.
4. stir the maple or brown sugar into the tea, pour in the steamed milk, then spoon the foam on top and finish with a pinch of cinnamon.

herbalist tips

steep it long: honeybush stays smooth and sweet even with a long steep, so the full 10 minutes gives you a rich base that holds up to the milk.

taste first: this blend already includes stevia leaf, so taste before you sweeten. you may need less than you think.

make it iced: steep, cool, and pour over ice with cold milk, then top with the cream cheese foam.

batch it: brew a double-strength jar and keep it in the fridge for up to 3 days for quick lattes.

good to know

this blend contains hazelnuts and is not suitable for anyone with a tree nut allergy. it also contains cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and stevia. if you are pregnant, nursing, sensitive to spices, or take medication, check with your healthcare provider. skip the cream cheese foam for a dairy-free version.
