tea as transition: preparing for september through ritual
august is a threshold. even before the weather shifts, your body begins to feel it — in the earlier sunsets, the changes in energy, and the quiet whisper to slow down.
this final week of the month is a powerful time to transition intentionally. through tea, breath, and quiet reflection, you can ease into september with more calm, clarity, and grounded presence.
herbs for seasonal support
these herbs are gentle, balancing, and perfect for the shift between fire and earth:
• mullein: clears and soothes the lungs, supports respiratory transitions
• calendula: supports lymphatic flow and skin healing
• lemon balm: calms the nervous system and balances emotional fluctuations
these herbs help you shed the heat and stimulation of summer while preparing the body for inward movement and cooler air.
tea ritual for the shift
create a transitional tea blend with:
• 1 part mullein
• 1 part calendula
• ½ part lemon balm
steep 1 tsp in 8 oz of hot water for 6–8 minutes. sip in the evening while journaling, stretching, or simply sitting outside.
add a breathwork practice: inhale for 4, hold for 4, exhale for 6. repeat for 3–5 cycles while sipping your tea.
